SINGAPORE: THE LAND OF BEAUTY

I remember the time I went to Singapore as if it was just yesterday. I had just given my 10th board exams and my dad had planned a trip to Singapore as a celebration. We entered the airport all ready to explore the gorgeous city of Singapore for the next one week and it was just me, my parents and my younger sister. Till this day, I think about the feeling I had the first time I stepped out of the Singapore airport. I had never seen such a well designed and clean environment. There was not a single horn to be heard and that was a huge change from the streets of Mumbai. The same streets of Mumbai where there is the constant noise of the autorickshaws, or the taxis and numerous cars.

We spent the first day, that is the day we arrived, just exploring the sites around our hotel out of which, one became my instant favourite. This place called Bugis street, where you would be able to find anything and everything on your list. The shops there felt like heaven for my shopaholic soul and we couldn’t resist but spend all our late nights there, shopping and trying out new delicacies.

Singapore is a city that will always leave you mesmerized with its beautiful attractions. From the well-known Universal Studios and Sentosa Islands to the beauty of nature that is showcased in the gardens by the bay. The Nocturnal animal safari, also known as night safari, showed me some of the animals that I had only ever seen in books or movies before and as a kid who had always loved animals, I couldn’t help but feel like never leaving the park that made itself a house to over 900 animals. The little train ride that you take to explore around the nocturnal park is sure to fulfill the little child present in your hearts.

The gardens by the bay are the place to visit if you’re a nature lover, especially the cloud forest and flower dome next to it. The light show at the gardens by the bay in the evening with the entrancing music and rhythmic lights is a must see. The S.E.A Aquarium has a variety of aquatic life that is also something that you’ll only see once in a lifetime.

Madame Tussaud’s was also a dream come true for 14-year-old me, who got to take pictures with wax figures of one of my favourite boybands, One Direction and my favourite singer, Taylor Swift. The Singapore trip is one that I would never forget as it was exactly like the international trips I had dreamed of since I was a little kid.
