HOW TO DEAL WITH DEPRESSION

“It's okay to be not okay” but one should not accept it as a life trend. Depression is a serious illness that tends to bring behavioural changes which force the person to act negatively and lowers the mood. It can be hard to diagnose since there are happy moments in between the disease but there is always a miserable feeling that exists.  There is a constant feeling of sadness and a loss of interest in the favourite things but no worries, it can be treated if diagnosed at the right moment. There are different types of depression starting from anxiety to bipolar diseases.

Depression diminishes one’s energy level, reduces appetite, causes fatigue, and frequent mood swings and anxiety attacks are common symptoms that can be hard to overcome. Overthinking and panic attacks can also cause demonization under the harsh circumstance. But small steps can help you to overcome this disease and bring back your happiness. Few steps can be taken to deal with depression.

ACCEPT THE TRUE YOU

Millions of people are suffering from depression and every other person is going through one or the other mental breakdown. But the most important fact while suffering is to accept the reality. Don’t let your feelings hide and share as much as you can with your friends. Accept the suffering and start taking minimal steps to make yourself feel better. For example, talk to your friends, go for a walk, or listen to some soothing songs.

HOPE FOR THE BETTER FUTURE

It is necessary to understand the fact that nothing is permanent in this world. After darkness, brightness conquers. Similarly, today's mood won't affect your tomorrow and you can still work to make your future better than today.

ENJOY TO THE FULLEST

Don’t overthink about what others think, just follow up on the path which gives “you” happiness. Try to enjoy every little moment in your life and neglect the negative part of the day. Try to accept the positivity around you.

NEGLECT DEPRESSION VOICE

Address every thought which conquers your mind. Learn to manipulate your thoughts and do the exact opposite of what your thoughts suggest to you. If you don’t want to do any activity, then force your mind that what if I would try doing this activity.

INDULGE IN SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

It is hard to involve yourself in social gatherings and parties while dealing with depression but this is your attempt to execute depression from your life. Therefore, don’t miss out on any chances of social meetings and attend as many events as you can.

MAKE A SCHEDULE

It is been observed that bringing your body into a routine and distracting your mind by keeping it busy can bring a positive effect on one’s life. Set goals for the future and try to achieve them. Stop thinking about the fact that you are dealing with mood swings and loneliness or having a panic attack. Just focus on the goals and achieve them. Once accomplished, reward yourself with something you like doing it.

OWN A PET

Some causes of the depression are loneliness and overthinking as well and by owning a pet, you can distract your thoughts with love and care. Start taking care of the pet and try to interact with it. This activity would increase the love between the pet and you as well as it will not allow your mind to dig into the negative aspects of life. Try to take your pet for a walk and spend time in nature. Take one step towards healing rather than just sitting and cursing about your life.

IT IS OKAY TO ASK FOR HELP

It is of no shame if you ask for help from somebody. They could be your friends, family members, office colleagues, or your therapist.  Feeling anxiety in today's lifestyle is common but the constant feeling should not exist and you can talk to anyone. Certain helpline numbers are also available by the government where instant help is readily available. Always think about asking for a help whenever you're going through dangerous thoughts and involving yourself with people or activity is a great stress buster that would help you to deal with depression as well.

EXERCISE DAILY

Moving your body is a great idea because when your body feels fit and fine, the energy level of the body also boosts up and you can divert more time to each activity and task. Join a gym or a yoga class and make friends there. Try to involve people there and it is a proven fact that exercise helps boost up the d. According to your energy and comfort level, you can also hit the gym twice too.

AIM PROPER SLEEP SCHEDULE

As per the data, either the person becomes sleep deprived or sleeps a lot. There is no space in between, therefore, try to control your sleep pattern. Try to achieve that perfect 8 hours sleep schedule which would help you to keep active throughout the day and you would feel energetic too.

GET YOURSELF A THERAPIST

Nothing feels better than talking to a close friend or relative. But get yourself a therapist for yourself who would be available for you as per your requirement. Daily sessions would work but urgent availability must be there in the worst case.
