Choose a cloud computing platform

Now that you know what cloud computing is and how it can help your business, it’s time to choose a platform. There are many different options for developing new applications in the cloud. Some of these platforms include:

AWS Lambda

Google App Engine

Microsoft Azure Cloud Functions

IBM Bluemix OpenWhisk

If you have experience with any of these platforms or similar ones, then start building your apps on them! If not, don’t worry! We’ve created an extensive list of resources for getting started with each platform below (see “How To Start Your Journey”). The best way to learn is by doing so make sure that when picking out a platform that suits your needs and preferences, look at their website first before signing up because some companies offer free trials while others require payment upfront even if they do offer trials later down the line..

Learn software development and programming skills

The first step to becoming a cloud engineer is to learn software development and programming skills. This can be done by taking classes at any local community college or university, but there are also some great online resources available such as Coursera and Udacity that offer free courses in programming languages like Python and Java.

It's important to note that cloud engineering is a field that's growing rapidly within the IT industry, so taking time out of your day job in order to go back to school for years may not be worth it if you're looking for an immediate career change. However, if this sounds like something you'd like to do eventually—or you've already got the skills necessary for it—then it could be well worth pursuing full-time once you've gotten started on other parts of your career journey!

Gather cloud engineering experience -

There are many ways to gain cloud engineering experience, including:

Work on a cloud engineering project with your company, or on your own.

Build a cloud environment in the lab and test it out.

Work on a team that's building out their own cloud platforms. This is especially helpful if there are already existing tools, documentation and processes that you can learn from and take inspiration from when building your own environment or infrastructure later down the line.

Ask for mentorship from someone who has worked in the field of cloud engineering before (this can also be an invaluable resource for networking).

Get certified in cloud engineering

It's worth noting that, unlike other jobs in tech, you don't need to be certified in order to become a cloud engineer. However, there is still value in getting certified because it will help you demonstrate your knowledge and skill set more effectively.

Certifications are available from a number of organizations, but the two most well-known are:

The Cloud Credential Council (CCC) offers four types of credentials including Certified Professional Cloud Administrator (CPCA), Certified Professional Cloud Practitioner (CPP), Certified Professional IT Architect (CPIA) and Certified Professional DevOps Practitioner (CDPP).

The Open Group also offers several certifications including the OGC Certified Systems Engineer - Intermediate Level certification for Google Cloud Platform Certification and OGC Google Cloud Platform Deployment Architect certification for Google developers who want to create production-grade applications using high availability strategies on GKE clusters

Stay current with trends in cloud engineering

Stay current with trends in cloud computing-

  • Learn about new cloud technologies.

  • Learn about new cloud products.

  • Learn about new cloud services.

  • Learn about new cloud applications (i.e., how to use the technology).

Keep up with security threats to make sure your organization is protected and safe from harm (i.e., don't get hacked!).

Cloud engineer is an in-demand role. If you want to get into the cloud space, this article can help you get started.

This article will help anyone looking for a career change or even just wanting to learn more about cloud computing and AWS.

Cloud engineers are responsible for maintaining and managing cloud infrastructure, including storage systems and servers running in data centers that companies rent from service providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS).
