Work towards making India a worldwide powerhouse for software products, says IT Minister

The Indian government is bullish on executing Prime Minister's 'Atmabirbhar Bharat' vision. IT Minister Shankar Prasad exhorted the IT industry to leverage various relaxations in existing policies and enable the ecosystem to position the country as a worldwide powerhouse for software products. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repositioned the 'Make in India' agenda as 'Make in India for the world'. The new vision signifies India's aspiration to become a strong trading nation for quality of products, and integration of new-age technologies into the worldwide economy. The new vision is during a better position to line the agenda and influence narratives. 

The government has recently banned variety of software products and mobile apps. The Indian software development firms gave a huge response to grand challenges including the event of indigenous video conferencing solutions and apps. Even amid the Covid-19 pandemic, subsequent lockdown, the IT and telecom firms have continued to flourish. 

On Thursday, IT Minister said, "COVID was projected as a neighborhood of economic stress but even in these times of economic challenge and hard life, the planet trusted India. therefore the brightest investments in IT and communications we got during this era . 

The grand challenge of developing video conferencing app is won by Kerala-based Techgentsia Software Technologies. The winner are going to be provided support of Rs 1 crore and a further Rs 10 lakh for maintenance over subsequent three years. 

Prasad also added, "The world is watching India during a big way. i might like innovators to believe that. we've already begin with a software package policy and an encouraging ecosystem is in situ . i might urge the software community to leverage India's position of innovation and startups and make it an enormous hub of software products."
